Year round Activities
Skiing
Ovronnaz has an excellent ski record with the runs offering good choice for all levels. There are 30km of pisted runs as well as three cross country skiing loops. The two ski schools are the Ecole Suisse de Ski and Ecole Suisse de Glisse.
Ovronnaz makes an excellent base to visit many other ski resorts –
- The Four Valleys ski link (La Tzoumaz) – 30 mins
- Crans Montana (Anzere) – 45 mins (summer skiing on Glacier)
- Portes Du Soleil – 50 mins
- Villars – 50 mins
- Chamonix – 1 hour
- Saas Fee – 1.5 hours (summer skiing on glacier)
- Zermatt – 2hrs
Walking & Cycling
Ovronnaz has 150km of marked footpaths and more than 50km of marked mountain bike routes. The main chair lift operates thoroughout most of the year.
Other Activities
There is a tennis court, minigolf and fitness course. Fishing (permit required), paragliding, mountain bikes for hire and a Children's playground.
Golf
There can be no more stunning places in the world to play golf with breath taking views of the Matterhorn and Mont–Blanc.
Ovronnaz is a great base to play golf from with many outstanding 18 hole courses less than an hours drive including – Crans Montana, Leuk-Susten, Montreux, Sion, Verbier and Villars.
The Severiano Ballesteros designed Golf–Club Crans–sur–Sierre plays host to the Omega European Masters and has been described by Greg Norman as “by far the most spectacular tournament site in the world”.
